Liverpool’s title chances without Trent Alexander-Arnold are uncertain, but the team still has the potential to succeed.

Alexander-Arnold has been a key player, especially in the opening up of play and the construction of attacks, and his absence is a significant setback. Jurgen Klopp has to find a way to get that construction back reliably, and maybe Jarell Quansah, who has never played a minute in the Premier League, can be the one to step up.

To be fair to Quansah, the 20-year-old is not the kind of player to be performed under trance; he is a performer. There is no replicating the bringing forward of the ball and the kind of last-ditch tackles that Alexander-Arnold does, but at least Quansah can sharpen around the edge of the penalty area the way that a kind of player who is to be entrusted with that last touch can.

Overall, Liverpool’s defense has to step up, and Quansah might help in filling the gap left by Alexander-Arnold.
